What was your favorite moment from the 2013 domestic road season?

Photographing Rás na mBán ,and it's magnificent scenery, as they approached the Cliffs of Moher.,in Co.Clare.

Who is your favorite Irish rider and why?

Dan Martin. Hes an aggressive rider who is a joy to watch in races.

Who is your favorite non-Irish international rider?

Philippe Gilbert 

Who do you tip for success in the future?

Sam Bennett of Net-App Endura.

Favorite race of the Irish racing calender and why?

Suir Valley 3 Day, a spectacular event, well run,fantastic atmosphere and loved shooting it!

Favorite race of the international racing calender and why? 

Paris-Roubaix ,because of the grueling terrain and watching the riders ride aggresively! 

What is your current bike?

Ridley Yana

What is your dream bike?

Definitely the Cippolini RB1000

What would you like to see improved, added or returned to cycling in Ireland?

There is no doubt that womens racing/cycling has improved immensely in the past 2 years but I would love to see women's cycling gain more support for the future!

Do you have any other hobbies apart from cycling?

Photography, fashion, art, reading, listening to music.   

What's the best advice you can give to anyone involved with cycling?

Make sure your enjoying it...! 

Is there a favourite picture you've taken of a race in Ireland?

Sam Bennett in a break with Felix English on his wheel,racing in the lashing rain coming over Fiddown Bridge,Co.Kilkenny in Stage1of the Suir Valley 3 Day. I doubt any of the lads and ladies that raced that day will forget it either, 3 seasons in one day!

What interested you in cycling photography?

The passion and emotions of the sport! The hard winter miles put in, suffering and sheer dedication the racers put into racing, I hope my photographs does them justice, they deserve it! 

Is there a particular event your looking forward to shooting during the 2014 season? 

Giro D Ětalia in Belfast and chase it to Dublin. Its like a dream....hope to get shots of some of my heroes of cycling, I can`t wait for it.
Also the Stage 6 finish of An Post Ras 2014 , Seskin Hill,Carrick-On -Suir....will be there supporting My club Iverk Produce Carrick Wheelers in my green and black, and hope to capture something special.

 

Do you have any advice for budding cycling/sports photographers?  

I love shooting the racing scene with a passion, you have to love what you shoot....it will shine through in your shots!
Just enjoy it..
